Humana, Inc (Louisville, Kentucky)
As a large organization with more than 30,000 employees, Humana had amassed several terabytes of documents and other unstructured data. Through consultation with Composable Systems and Microsoft Consulting Services, Humana sought to create a SharePoint-based document management system that supported auditing, document retention, and custom document workflows. To meet those needs, Composable Systems extended and customized SharePoint to automatically assign document retention policies on all documents and either run a custom workflow or delete the document when it expires. To adhere to Humana's corporate standards on web application "look and feel", Composable Systems created a feature to automatically brand all SharePoint sites when they are created. To increase the usability of Humana's large SharePoint, Composable Systems created a customized navigation control that would show users the SharePoint sites that they could access in a hierarchical fashion. To reduce the maintenance required to maintain the SharePoint installation, Composable Systems created two SharePoint Designer actions that allowed SharePoint workflows to execute farm administrative commands and replicate content among the sites in the farm.
Texas Roadhouse, Inc (Louisville, Kentucky)
Composable Systems is currently leading Texas Roadhouse through the planning phase of a SharePoint implementation. Having performed custom software development, software mentoring services and training services for Texas Roadhouse since early in 2007, Composable Systems proved itself as a leader in .NET technology as well as SharePoint.
Prior to introducing SharePoint to the organization, Composable systems developed several software solutions. One was a single-sign on mechanism which enables custom .NET applications to honor users who have previously been authenticated on another server. Another is a custom file mover application, which implements a pluggable architecture for watching files of certain types and moving them to custom locations.

Ohio IT Alliance (Columbus, Ohio)
As a resource for Ohio’s IT industry, the Ohio IT Alliance decided to develop an online Solution Center to bring suppliers and buyers of IT related resources in Ohio together. Based, on a pre-determined graphical layout, Composable Systems was able to design and implement a SharePoint-based, externally-facing site that utilizes InfoPath Forms (with InfoPath Forms Services) to allow suppliers and buyers to search for one another online.
The site also includes ecommerce capabilities for suppliers and buyers. The functionality for the new site utilizes information that is stored in SharePoint lists and libraries. Composable Systems built custom web parts for the list search functionality as well as for allowing the searcher to visually track their search progress through the search steps.
In addition, Composable Systems implemented the functionality of AJAX controls to allow the display of relevant partner logos in a rotating fashion without the entire page needing to be reloaded.

IE Discovery (Austin, Texas)
IE Discovery, a leading electronic discovery company, found that their homegrown intranet wasn’t quite meeting their needs. Through consultation with Composable Systems they decided that SharePoint provided the power and functionality to accomplish what their company needed from an intranet site. However, they needed more than just the “out-of-the-box” SharePoint functionality to accomplish certain needs, so Composable Systems stepped in to develop customized web parts to fulfill IE Discovery’s particular needs. In Addition, IE Discovery required that SharePoint allow them to access internal data sources through their pre-existing Business Data Catalog (BDC). Once again, Composable Systems was able to customize a web part to allow them to access their BDC through the new SharePoint intranet site.
Another issue that IE Discovery had to address was their need to promote content from lower-level sites to their top-level site. Composable Systems successfully developed additional functionality to support this type of content promotion with ease.
With the prospect of replacing their original intranet site with a brand new SharePoint site, IE Discovery had a legitimate concern about their Business Users being able to make a smooth transition into using a new interface with increased functionality. However, in addition to being experienced developers, Composable Systems has on its staff Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs) and MVPs (Most Valued Professionals), one of which is an MVP in SharePoint. Therefore, Composable Systems was able to provide all the training needed for IE Discovery’s staff to feel confident and to be equipped in successfully using the functionality of their new SharePoint intranet site.
Know, LLC (Cincinnati, Ohio)
Know Apparel is a new company which creates and sells fashionable women’s clothing. With a great visual design for a website ready to go, Know was in need of a platform to provide the functionality for their site. Composable Systems was able to take Know’s prebuilt graphic design and implement SharePoint as the foundation for all of the functionality on the site.
All of the pictures that are displayed on the Know site are stored in SharePoint lists. Customized web parts, created by Composable Systems, allow publishers within Know Apparel to easily update and display news and events as well without a lot of technical expertise. In addition, SharePoint’s built-in search functionality allows for visitors of the site to easily find what they are looking for, and with some additional customization with SharePoint Designer, Know’s website is case-in-point for Composable System’s ability to demonstrate not only the power of SharePoint but the flexibility and advanced functionality capabilities of SharePoint as well.
Composable Systems developed an entire e-commerce solution for Know. Know’s clients are now able to log on to the site, add and delete items from a shopping cart, and make payments through PayPal—Know’s preferred method of receiving payment. All of this e-commerce functionality is based on the information stored within SharePoint lists.
